A Thursday night donation-based class on the South River.
People ask why I don't charge a flat rate for my waterfront yoga classes. The classes started donation-based because I simply wanted to practice teaching yoga more. However, it has now remained donation-based to allow anyone the option to participate. Yoga is often expensive, although very worthy- I wanted to extend it to everyone to share this gift that keeps on giving. When I hold my donation-based yoga classes on the South River, I do it with the hope that my students will not just get a workout, but a new twinkle in their eye. A deeper interest of self-empowerment. New elevated vibrations that further repercussion off their mats. In addition, I like to offer good company, inspiration, and support. But I didn't think too much about the good company aspect, other than being a pleasant person myself for others to share their practice with. I knew as a yoga teacher, I had the ability to inspire shifts in one's life, but little did I know that I personally would connect with people past a surface level and gain amazing new friends.
New students, New friends
Over the last couple weeks I've had the pleasure of sharing my practice with some great souls. I feel as if I've had a breathe of fresh air (well... a few), from sharing class, conversations, and moments with like-minded people. The quality and richness of it all just makes me feel more alive. The mutual joys of life and passions, love and obstacles, music and food, self-growth and empowerment. How great it has been to reminisce with and get to know such wonderful, uplifting new friends. These friends who I have had the pleasure of laughing & sharing stories with have made me grow tremendously in such a short period of time.
Off the mat fun.
I feel like this is where I am meant to be. As my teaching has blossomed, it has become more and more clear. I am a teacher- I love to inspire, but I am also a student- I love to learn and expand. So thank you to all my new friends or friends I have grown closer to in this time. You inspire me.
I'm a first grade teacher, yoga instructor, developing chef, adventure seeker, traveler, student, craftswoman, and world enthusiast. I wanted to design a space where I could connect with you all and talk about the things I'm most passionate about. Enjoy!
